KANSAS BOARD OF REGENTS The Board invites nominations and applications for the Associate Director of Adult Education for Program and Staff Development. This position works closely with the Director of Adult Education to supervise and support Adult Education and Family Literacy programs in Kansas. The Associate Director will serve as KBOR Adult Education lead for staff and program development, implementing state plans for program outcomes and quality, assisting the State Director in monitoring local program compliance and effectiveness, and providing expertise to the system on teacher effectiveness, contextualized instruction, distance learning, and/or transition to post-secondary education and training. The position requires a minimum of two years experience teaching in and/or coordinating programs in adult education, workforce development, or post secondary education. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, an understanding of education and/or workforce development for low-skilled adults, and ability to balance a variety of complex tasks. Successful experience in grant writing and management, professional development, monitoring data and fiscal reporting is desired. A master’s degree from an accredited institution in education, public administration, or a related field is preferred; a master’s degree in progress will be considered. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. KANSAS BOARD OF REGENTS The Kansas Board of Regents invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Vice President for Accountability, Planning and Institutional Effectiveness. This position supervises a staff that supports activities relating to the collection, maintenance, reporting, and analysis of information and data for the postsecondary education system in Kansas. In this capacity, the Associate Vice President provides overall leadership and management across the organization as well as to the 32 public postsecondary education institutions working to continuously improve accountability, planning, and effectiveness. This position reports to the Vice President for Finance and Administration, working directly with the Board, other policymakers and leaders providing data and analysis in support of data driven decision-making. The successful candidate will have 5 years professional experience in research, data analysis, planning, and institutional/organizational effectiveness, and experience with databases, statistical software, and possess high level data and statistical skills. Also, at least 3 years of experience managing people and data projects, and an earned master’s degree from an accredited institution is required. Experience in university/college/system institutional assessment/research office with increasing levels of responsibility, and extensive experience working with data warehouse and reporting systems are preferred qualifications. He or she should demonstrate strong analytic, organizational, team and interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prioritize, take initiative and follow projects through to completion. The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the state’s six universities and the statewide coordinating board for the state’s 32 public higher education institutions (seven public universities, nineteen community colleges, and six technical colleges). In addition, the Board administers the state’s student financial aid, adult education, GED, and career and technical education programs. The Board also authorizes private proprietary schools and out-of-state institutions to operate in Kansas, and administers the Kan-ed network, a statewide network that provides broadband Internet access and distance learning capabilities for schools, hospitals, and libraries.
